ASMA History

The All States Maritime Academy (ASMA) is a Merchant Navy Institute registered under Nigerian law in 2019, under the CAMA Act 1990. ASMA was founded to provide qualified maritime workers and combat the growing number of untrained individuals in Nigeria’s marine industry. Our focus is on promoting professionalism among seafarers by global best maritime practices and the expectations of the International Maritime Organization.

The academy became affiliated with the Nigerian Merchant Navy Seafarer Association (Sail Navy) on April 21, 2021. ASMA received approval from the Delta State Ministry of Higher Education, the Federal Ministry of Education, and the Nigeria Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA). It has also received interim approval from the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE). Additionally, the academy is accredited by the Nigeria Institute of Welding.
